GALLERY SUBMISSION AND SELECTION RULES

Image Submission:

  1. Images must be either rendered in Bryce or contain objects that were modeled in Bryce and exported using the new Convert to Mesh function in Bryce 6. This means that you can model an object in Bryce 6, convert it to a mesh, import it into another program (like Carrara, C4D, etc.), add additional items to the scene, and render it. However, please do not take advantage of this by making the objects too simple. The object is to show what Bryce can do, not what your rendering software can do.
  2. Only registered users can upload images into the galleries. Please provide a valid e-mail address when registering so you can be notified when your image is selected for the permanent galleries.
  3. By submitting your image(s), you are giving CatBird Studios the right to provide the images in the monthly upload and permanent galleries. The images will not be used for any other purpose and your e-mail accounts will never be released or sold.
  4. Users can submit as many images each month as they wish. Please include the programs used to create the image (if Bryce is not listed, the image will be removed) and if you wish, a short description of the image including any special features you used, like HDRI, random replicate, HDRI, etc.. Please do not provide credits for any item used.
  5. Images can be submitted from the 25th of the month through the 24th of the next month. For example, submissions for the December 2006 gallery will be accepted from 10/25/06 through 11/24/06.
  6. Once an image is uploaded, it cannot be deleted (no cold feet allowed!). If you need to replace an image with a newer version, contact Darlisa with a request to delete the older version.
  7. Images not selected for the permanent month's gallery can be resubmitted for the next month.
  8. Comments and ratings are not allowed. This is to prevent spamming of the galleries. Spammers who figure out a way around this will be banned.
  9. Since this gallery is meant for general public viewing, images that should not be viewed by children will not be permitted and will be removed. Please take a look at the Gallery Conduct section of the DAZ Terms of Service as these are the same guidelines that will be followed by this gallery.
  10. Images must be no wider than 1024 pixels, no larger than 200 KB, and in JPEG format. Images will be resized to intermediate versions linked to the larger version.
  11. Users are encouraged to place a link to their personal website or gallery in their user profile. This will provide viewers the opportunity to view more of your work, including those images that are non-Bryce related.
  12. Oh, and please submit images that you consider to be your best work! Show off what you are capable of!

Image Selection:

  1. Judges will be anonymous for each month's selection to prevent anyone trying to influence them. Depending on the number of images submitted, there will be from one to three judges per month.
  2. Judges will select up to 10 images each for a total of up to 30 images for the permanent monthly gallery.
  3. Images are to be selected based on their quality, use of Bryce features, ingenuity, and the judge's personal preferences.
  4. Judges can begin sending in their selections starting on the 20th of the month through the next to last day of the month (which gives the admin time to move the images). For example, selections for the December 2006 gallery can be submitted to the admin from 11/20/06 through 11/29/06.
  5. Images submitted by judges can be selected for the permanent galleries, but can only be selected by one of th other judges (judges do not know who the other judges are).
  6. At the end of each year, starting with 2007, the judges from the past year will be asked to vote on their favorite image from all the permanent galleries. These images will be placed in a gallery of honor for that year.
  7. Anyone wishing to be a judge may contact Darlisa and you'll be placed on the waiting list for potential judges.
